Student`s Companies from CoE Participated at Injaz Oman Exhibition AdvO and Ecoquarter student’s companies from College of Engineering participated at the exhibition of Student`s Companies Competition organized by Injaz Oman from 13 to 15 February 2020. Both companies successfully qualified to the next stage of the competition to be among the 30 best companies for this year. AdvO Company offers an online platform that facilitate the adventure tourism in Oman. The platform brings adventure companies together to assist targeted people to find all services in one hub. Therefore, AdvO application provides a comprehensive information on the adventure companies in Oman with details of their trips. Through theses services, AdvO aims to contribute to the national mission of promoting tourism in Oman. Ecoquarter Company is solving the problem of excess amount of chlorine in the domestic water through its innovative filter “Naqaa”. The filter contains ecofriendly adsorbent material produced based on recycling the date seeds and coconut shells as an outcome of the wooden agricultural waste in Oman. In addition, the casing of the product is made from a new technology by using 3D printers enhanced and integrated by the engineers in the company. The ecofriendly product can remove contaminants, the undesired smell and taste of chlorination and heavy metals transfer to the domestic water through transportation and storage processes. Though this Naqaa product, Ecoquarter Company aims to contribute to the national priorities of recycling and environment protection. These companies are supervised by Mr Ibrahim Issa Al Balushi, Senior Lecturer, Department of Professional Development & Humanities.
