The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Annual Student Conference for the year 2019 was held at Orlando, Florida, the USA from November 8 – 11, 2019. This annual meeting is one of the premier events for chemical engineers who are interested in innovation and professional growth. Around 1600 student members from around the globe attended to celebrate the chemical engineering profession. 

Ms.Aaisha Al Maktumi one of a recent graduate of Department of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering Department of College of Engineering was invited to present her research findings in both an oral and poster presentation at the above-mentioned event. Ms Aisha presented her work carried out under the supervision of Dr.Lakkim N Rao in her graduation project on one of the strategic important area “Zero Flaring”. 

 Ms.Aaisha presented her project titled “Fuel Cell Technology to produce Electricity in Oil and Gas Industries” which aimed to reduce flaring and use the fuel cell technology to produce electricity from flared gases at the event, which attracted many scientific researchers for further discussions and bagged Second prize in Poster competition
